Ever feel like life moves too fast, and you’re always putting yourself last? It’s time to change that with a simple yet powerful 30-day self-care challenge!
This challenge encourages you to take time out of your day to focus on YOU. Self-care is a crucial aspect of living a happy, balanced, and stress-free life. By completing this 30-day self-care challenge, you will be creating strong self-care habits that will guide you to living a healthy lifestyle. Feel free to download the challenge printout to keep track of your progress.
How the Challenge Works
This 30-day self-care challenge is broken up by themes for each week: Mindful Mornings & Mental Clarity, Body Love & Wellness, Digital Detox & Social Self-Care, and Creative & Emotional Well-being. These tasks can be as small or big as you would like, and can take as little as 10 minutes out of your day. You can follow the activities as listed or mix and match based on your preferences and schedule.
By the end of the 30 days, you’ll feel more balanced, less stressed, and deeply connected to yourself. Let’s get started!
Week 1: Mindful Mornings & Mental Clarity
Day 1: Start a gratitude journal.
Start your day by writing down three things you’re grateful for. This sets a positive tone for the rest of your day. If you would like a more involved gratitude journal, my favorite is The Five Minute Journal which offers sections for gratitude, reflection, affirmations, quotes, and more.
Day 2: Meditate for 5 minutes.
Clear your mind with a simple meditation. Just sit in silence, focus on your breath, and let go of stress. If you’re new to meditation, I have found free apps such as Calm or Insight Timer to be extremely helpful in my meditation journey.
Day 3: Set one small goal for the day.
Pick a small, achievable task to focus on, like reading for 15 minutes or taking a walk. This can really be anything that fulfills you.
Day 4: Drink a full glass of water first thing in the morning.
Hydrate your body right away to kick-start your metabolism and set a healthy foundation for the day. I find this easiest to do with an insulated water bottle or water carafe right on my nightstand.
Day 5: Create a calming morning playlist.
Find songs that bring you peace and energy, and let them inspire you throughout the day. Spotify offers premade playlists for any theme or genre if you need inspiration.
Day 6: Try a new breakfast recipe that nourishes you.
A healthy, wholesome breakfast will fuel your body and mind for a productive day. If you are busy in the morning, and would like to utilize meal prepping for this task, the Damn Delicious Meal Prep recipe book has loads of ideas.
Day 7: Go outside for 10 minutes in the morning.
Enjoy the fresh air and sunlight, whether it’s a walk, stretching in the garden, or sitting by a window. This makes the perfect combo with your morning coffee or tea.

Week 2: Body Love & Wellness
Day 8: Stretch or do light yoga for 10 minutes.
Stretching helps release tension, so take a few minutes to care for your body. If you want to try yoga, there are endless videos on YouTube that you can pair with a yoga mat and blocks to start your day with balance and positive intentions.
Day 9: Take a slow, relaxing shower or bath.
Set aside time for a luxurious bath or shower, using your favorite products, oils, or bath bombs to unwind. If you want to elevate your bath experience some of my favorites are a bath pillow, to provide comfort for your head and neck, and a bath tray, to hold snacks, drinks, a book or Kindle, or whatever else you’d like at hand
Day 10: Hydrate and take care of your skin.
Take the extra steps to care for your skin and make it glow. Whether it be a hydrating mask, using an ice roller, a facial steamer, or using your favorite oil/serum with a gua sha.
Day 11: Prepare a healthy, feel-good meal.
Nourish your body with a homemade, wholesome meal packed with fresh ingredients. This is the perfect time to cook maybe your favorite meal as a child or a recipe you’ve been meaning to try.
Day 12: Do a short walk or movement session.
Get moving for at least 15 minutes. A short walk or run will suffice, or you can take in to the next level and carve out time for a workout routine of your liking.
Day 13: Try a new herbal tea or calming drink.
Sip on a warm drink tea to relax your mind and body. You can try an assorted sample of teas for a different variety. If you are not a tea drinker, this could be a great time to try a relaxing mocktail like my favorite: 100% cherry juice, Fresca or seltzer, and Nello Supercalm Drink Mix containing magnesium, l-theanine, vitamin D3, and ashwagandha root extract.
Day 14: Get 7–9 hours of sleep tonight.
Prioritize sleep tonight, as it’s essential for rejuvenation and overall well-being. It’s easy to put sleep on the backburner when life gets busy, but it is a vital part in self-care.

Week 3: Digital Detox & Social Self-Care
Day 15: Unfollow accounts that don’t inspire you.
Take a moment to clean up your social media by unfollowing accounts that no longer serve you.
Day 16: Set a 1-hour no-phone time before bed.
Power down your devices an hour before sleep. This allows your mind to wind down and prepares you for restful sleep.
Day 17: Send a kind message to a friend or family member.
It is easy to let the chaos of life get in the way of social connections, so reach out to someone you care about and let them know you’re thinking of them.
Day 18: Have a solo date (coffee shop, park, bookstore).
Enjoy some quiet time on your own, whether it’s a walk or a visit to your favorite cozy spot. This is a great time to put your phone on do-not-disturb, grab your air pods, and listen to your favorite music or podcast while getting out on your own.
Day 19: Write down three things you love about yourself.
Remind yourself of your worth by listing three qualities you love about yourself.
Day 20: Spend an evening reading instead of scrolling.
Pick up your Kindle or a book you’ve been meaning to read and enjoy some peaceful, phone-free time.
Day 21: Watch a comfort movie or listen to a feel-good podcast.
Relax with a movie or podcast that makes you feel good, whether it’s comedy, self-help, or something nostalgic.

Week 4: Creative & Emotional Well-being
Day 22: Try a new hobby or creative activity.
Explore a new activity that sparks joy and creativity—let your imagination flow! Amazon has a ton of beginner sets to any hobby you can think of: painting, coloring, baking, crocheting, etc.
Day 23: Write a letter to your future self.
Send some kind words to yourself—whether it’s about your goals, dreams, or reflections on the journey. Put it in an envelope and date it for a year, 5 years, or whenever you want to open it up.
Day 24: Declutter one small space in your home.
Take 10–15 minutes to tidy up a small area of your home, like your desk or a drawer, to create a clearer space for peace of mind.
Day 25: Light a candle & have a mindful evening routine.
Create a calming ritual by lighting a favorite candle and winding down for the evening. Follow this with an intentional night time routine.
Day 26: Buy or pick fresh flowers for yourself.
Fresh flowers are a simple way to brighten your space and boost your mood.
Day 27: Do something spontaneous & fun.
Plan a fun activity on a whim—whether it’s trying a new restaurant or going on a mini adventure.
Day 28: Reflect on your self-care progress & journal about it.
Take a moment to write down in a journal your thoughts on how you’ve felt throughout the challenge.
Day 29: Plan a self-care day for next month.
Look ahead to the next month and create a plan to keep your self-care habits alive.
Day 30: Celebrate yourself—treat yourself to something special!
You’ve completed the 30-day challenge! Treat yourself to something meaningful—whether it’s a spa day, a new book, or your favorite dessert.
